11th September 2017. The FIG World MAG and WAG Challenge Cup took place from the 8th – 10th September 2017 in Szombathely-Hungary. Representing South Africa at this event was Naveen Daries.

This young lady from Gauteng has had a great start to her journey as a Senior Olympic gymnast. This is Naveen’s second major competition of the year having previously represented South Africa at the 13th FIG World Challenge Cup in Slovenia.

Solid performances on vault and floor in the qualification rounds, saw Naveen qualify to compete in the finals of these events. Despite tough competition, Naveen secured 7th place in the finals on both apparatus. Fantastic results for a young lady in her debut Senior Olympic year.

SAGF is delighted to see the great energy and positivity from this young gymnast and wish her all the best in what promises to be a bright future.

Naveen was accompanied by Coach, Candice Cronje, and Judge, Debbie Gordon. Thanks are extended to these experienced officials for providing support to Naveen whilst in Hungary.
