11 September 2019. The FIG Artistic World Challenge Cup took off from the 06th September to 08th September 2019 at the ‘Arena Savaria’ in Szombathely – Hungary (HUN). SA Gymnastics was represented by the trio, ROOSKRANTZ Caitlin, DARIES Naveen and JOSLING Inneke.
South Africa’s Caitlin Rooskrantz was on 1st place podium in Szombathely, making history as being South Africa’s first Gold Medallist in a FIG World Cup / Challenge Cup. Caitlin who is also the 2018 African Champion (Women’s Uneven Bars), pushed herself to the limits by first qualifying her way in to the Uneven Bars Final securing total score 13.250 in the WAG Qualification Round. Caitlin bagged the Gold Medal in her Uneven Bars Apparatus Final with total score of 13.333, that was enough to get herself on the 1st place podium spot.

Naveen Daries qualified for Floor Final in 5th place with total score of 12.750, Naveen finished just outside of a medal position by a mere 0,033 points; she came 4th in the WAG Apparatus Final with 12.800 points.

Rhythmic Gymnastics | FIG World Challenge Cup 2019, Portugal
The FIG World Challenge Cup 2019 for Rhythmic Gymnastics was held from the 06th September to 08th September 2019, the World Challenge Cup was held in Portimão Arena, Portugal. The SA Gymnastics was represented by Shannon Gardiner and Azra Dewal.
This was the last event before the beginning of mid-September in Baku World Championships of Rhythmic Gymnastics, a total of 33 gymnasts across the globe participated.
South Africa’s Shannon Gardiner in the All-Around Qualification came 31st with 53.200 points and Azra Dewal came 33rd rank scoring 44.800 points.

The 28th Portimão International Tournament, for Rhythmic Gymnastics was held from the 02nd to 04th September 2019, this international tournament was held at the Portimao Arena, Portugal (POR). The SA Gymnastics was represented by GARDINER Shannon, OOSTHUIZEN Claurette, DEWAN Azra, WAKEFIELD Erin and EBERLE Willow.
The Juniors competition had 21 gymnasts, Willow Eberle qualified for all the apparatus final. In the Seniors competition Shannon Gardiner qualified for Ball Final in 5th place with total points 13.733. Shannon in the Ball Apparatus Final she came 8th with 12.700 points.
