SA Duo to Jump Rope in USA | 2018 World Championships

18 June 2018. South Africa’s duo Keolebogile ‘Keo‘ Mokolopo and Malusi Tumtumana will be part of the South African Team to attend the 2018 World Jump Rope Championships in the United States from 01st – 10th July 2018.

 

The 2018 World Championships organised by the World Jump Rope Federation will be held at the CFE Arena, University of Central Florida. The World Jump Rope Championships and Camp follows the exciting news of the merge of FISAC-IRSF (Fédération Internationale de Saut à la Corde – International Rope Skipping Federation) and WJRF (World Jump Rope Federation) to form the  International Jump Rope Union (IJRU).

 

Keo | 2017 World Jump Rope Championships

Keo was part of the SA Team that competed a year ago at the 2017 World Jump Rope Championships, where about 800 competitors across 30 plus countries took part. She placed 3rd for her Single Rope Freestyle and came 2nd in the Individual 3 minutes speed, rewarded with a Bronze and a Silver Medal.

 

Malusi Tumtumana | Junior Rope Skipper of the Year for 2016

 

Malusi Tumtumana a matric student in Khayelitsha, will be wearing green and gold for the first time as he represents South Africa at this event. Malusi, the winner of the Gold overall medal at the 2017 SA Gym Games, currently holds the national records for Speed where he achieved a total of 578.5.  Malusi also received award ‘Junior Rope Skipper of the Year for 2016’ at the SAGF Annual Awards a year ago, and now is ready to compete next month along Keo who is a double-medallist.
