Russia’s Best Artistic Gymnasts visits South Africa | Zamolodchikova & Garibov

21 November 2017. The South African Gymnastics Federation is pleased to officially announce that, South Africa will be visited by the all-time artistic gymnasts. Elena Zamolodchikova and Emin Garibov will be visiting South Africa from the 25th – 28th November 2017, this is the Russian Federation and African Gymnastics Union agreement of cooperation initiative; the two will be running Russian Master Classes around the Gauteng province.

Elena Zamolodchikova began the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics at the age of six years and in 1999 World Championships (Tianjin, China) she won Gold medal in Vault, plus a Silver in the Team event, as well as an All-Round Bronze Medal. “Zamo” has been known all over the world for her successful Double-Twisting Double-Backflip at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, where she won Gold Medal in Floor exercise and Vault, along with Team Silver. Elena is a Multiple Olympic Medalist and has retired in 2009, she’s coaching gymnasts in Moscow; travelling the world as an FIG Brevet accredited international judge and in 2015 she was inducted in the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.

Emin Garibov is the two-times (2012, 2013) European Horizontal Bar Champion, he also won Gold Medal at the 2016 World Challenge Cup in Osijek for Parallel Bars; has retired in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics on 24 April 2017.
