The South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF) has identified the need to empower and invest in the younger members of the Federation. There is a need to provide the future leaders of the SAGF with the necessary leadership skills to ensure the longevity and prosperity of the Federation.
Forty members of the Federation will be invited to attend this inaugural event. The conference will be facilitated by independent professional speakers, who have been carefully selected by SAGF, to impart their vast knowledge with the participants. .
The aim of the Young Leaders Conference is to make a concerted effort to guarantee that the future leaders of SAGF are given skills in a few of the key areas that are vital for the success of a sporting body both nationally and provincially. Emphasis will be placed on interaction between the conference attendees and SAGF.
By investing in the capacity building of its youth, SAGF hopes to create a culture of responsibility, emotional intelligence, good leadership and sound governance with the ability to strategise effectively.
Two conferences are scheduled to take place, one in Cape Town on the 31st January & 1st February 2015 and one in Gauteng on 7th & 8th February 2015.
