KZN Jumpers

The FISAC-IRSF Rope Skipping World Championships takes place in Sweden, 24 July 2016 – 02 August 2016. South African Rope Skippers who will be participating at this event are:

  • Boitumelo Eric Molosioa- Amabutho Jumpers – KZN
  • Sihle Sandile Hlophe- Amabutho Jumpers – KZN
  • Abongile Lindokuhle Luthuli- Amabutho Jumpers – KZN
  • Lindani Treasure Mkhonza- Amabutho Jumpers – KZN
  • Mbali Nyundu- Rize-up Skippers – MPU
  • Makemiso Mokoena- Thabo Mofutsanyane Gymnastics School – FS
  • Tshilwane Sonopo- Thabo Mofutsanyane Gymnastics School – FS
  • Thembekile Jama- Thabo Mofutsanyane Gymnastics School – FS

The Rope Skipping World Championships takes place every second year. South African Rope Skippers last attended the World Championships in 2012, with teams unable to attend in 2014.

At previous attendance at World Championships, South African Ropeskippers came home with a Gold in 2006 and Bronze in 2008.

The KZN skippers of Boitumelo, Sihle, Abongile and Lindani will compete in the World Champs Masters Individual Category, and together will compete in the World Champs Masters Group category. Mbali also participates in the female individual category. The Individual Category competition consists of 30 seconds speed, 3 min speed, freestyle, and possible triple unders. The Group category consists of Team speed, Double Dutch freestyle and Team freestyle).

The Freestate skippers of Makemiso, Tshilwane and Thembekile are to compete in the Swedish Open, taking place prior to the World Champs. The gymnasts will compete in the Individual category which includes 30 seconds speed, 3 minute speed and freestyle.
