21 July 2020. Whilst sport and gymnastics in particular, has made good progress towards making gymnastics accessible and affordable to many, there are still many challenges that must be addressed to redress the imbalances of the past.

Starting this Wednesday 22 July 2020, the SAGF will be having a series of online (via Zoom) engagements on Transformation and Development. The ultimate objective of these engagements is for each province, each district and each discipline to have a concrete plan of action with deadlines and dedicated resources.

The engagements will be in three phases, with a choice of 3-time slots

Phase 1: Understanding Transformation and Development.

Identifying the gaps, challenges and issues.

22 July 2020 (Wednesday) 10:00 – 12:00
23 July 2020 (Thursday) 18:00 – 20:00
25 July 2020 (Saturday) 14:00 – 16:00

Phase 2: Developing innovative solutions to Transformation and Development Challenges

29 July 2020 (Wednesday) 10:00 – 12:00
30 July 2020 (Thursday) 18:00 – 20:00
1 Aug 2020 (Saturday) 10:00 – 12:00

Phase 3: Action planning per Province, District and Discipline.

12 Aug 2020 (Wednesday) 10:00 – 12:00
13 Aug 2020 (Thursday) 18:00 – 20:00
15 Aug 2020 (Saturday) 10:00 – 12:00

These engagements can only work if passionate people participate positively. We need people from all our structures to put up their hands and agree to put their shoulder to the wheel to change the face of gymnastics in South Africa. We need innovative, but effective and sustainable actions.

The online workshops are also open to any registered member who wants to play a role in addressing these issues.
