The South African Gymnastics Federation walked away with a triple crown win for their finalists at the 2020 Momentum gsport Awards.
We are pleased to announce that our “mother” of gymnastics Elizabeth Cameron Smith received a Special Recognition award for her 52 years of dedication in sport, whilst our Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Olympic qualifier and gold medallist on bar, Caitlin Rooskrantz won the Emerging Athlete award. SAGF walked away with the Federation of the Year award.
These achievements could not have been awarded at a more perfect time, highlighting success at such unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was an absolute honour to receive these well-deserved awards, but it was even more rewarding to be recognized for the hard work, dedication, innovation and leadership behind our passionate family.
Well done to the awardees for their achievements and well done to the SAGF family for your hand in the Federation of the Year award. Without each member, none of these achievements could have been possible. Many thanks to the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Momentum and gsport for hosting the awards and putting women’s sport in the spotlight.
