05 June 2014. The third successive annual SAGF Club Coaches Conference took place in May, with this edition having taken place in two provinces, namely Johannesburg, the 24th May and in Cape Town, the 31st May.
A combined total of 36 participants attended the The aim of hosting such a conference is to empower club owners and coaches to administer their clubs in a more efficient manner.
Topics under discussion were:
– The New Coaching Framework
– Sustainable Club Development
– How to protect your club legally
– How to get the best out of your gymnasts
– Running your club/school as a business
– Be Safe – Gym Safe: Insurance for Gymnasts and their families
– Lottery Application Funding
Participants found the conference to be most beneficial, with a few anonymous feedback comments being the following:

SAGF would like to thank Sports and Recreation South Africa (SRSA) for funding towards this project, additionally to SASCOC and the City of Cape Town for use of their venues, namely SASCOC House and Alphen Centre respectively. Finally, our thanks goes to all the guest speakers who availed of their time and disseminated their knowledge.
If you were not able to attend the 2014 Conference and have missed out in acquiring knowledge on the following topics, SAGF will be providing a DVD to bring ALL clubs up to speed with the latest information. A DVD with all presentations from both Gauteng and Cape Town will be compiled. The Club Coaches Conference will be held annually so look out for the 2015 date!
